Gallery walls tend to be on a larger or wider scale, whereas montages might consist of a composed and carefully selected group of pictures. They both require careful planning, precision and a creative eye. I consider scale, colour, texture and relationships between pieces to create inspired and harmonious layouts.
Each design begins with a discussion about your pieces, your space, and your preferences. I then design and layout the composition, agree it with you, transpose it to the wall, and hang it with precision.
The high ceilings in many of Edinburgh’s period homes allow space to accommodate large and ambitious arrangements. Many Georgian and Victorian properties have experienced years of layout alterations and changing proportions, resulting in nooks and corners which can be great for smaller montages to sit.
Every montage design and installation is carefully hung, levelled and secured using dual point fixings wherever possible. I carry a wide variety of fixtures and fittings and can replace most frame hardware if needed, ensuring your pieces are hung safely and securely. I work with care, and carry full public liability insurance for your peace of mind.
